Since re-opening in May last year, The Gasometer has been busy re-establishing itself as a go-to place for live music and good food with artists like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Adalita, Total Giovanni and Nai Palm amongst many stepping onto its stage.

The Gasometer has decided to keep treating the Melbourne music scene by opening its roof and hosting a brand new summer series, The Collingwood Open Series. The string of gigs will see some huge Australian acts playing to a reduced capacity in the venue’s unique open-air space. Starting later this month on Australia Day Eve, Collingwood Open will start off hosting performances from mood-rock veteran Gareth Liddiard, stunning songstress Lanie Lane, purveyors of twisted country Twin Beasts, the hypnotic stylings of Teeth & Tongue and indie-folk duo Sweet Jean.

The Gasometer’s Collingwood Open Series will give punters the opportunity to see long standing favourites serenade the sunset, in an intimate setting with the open sky as the ceiling. More shows in the series are due to be announced sometime later this month.

Tickets available from The Gasometer website.

UPDATE: The Gasometer has just released the full line up for their Collingwood Open Series with three more shows announced. Added to an already great line-up are ten-peice Dorsal Fins and singer-songwriter Liz Stringer as well as the inclusion of a second show by The Drones’ frontman Gareth Liddiard.
