Snakadaktal announced via their Facebook earlier this evening that they will no longer be continuing as a band, stating that they “feel that it is time to move onto different pursuits that we each individually wish to explore”. The announcement comes as quite a surprise considering the band have upcoming tour dates including a show at Northcote Social Club towards the end in this month.

We reviewed Snakadaktal’s debut Sleep In The Water in the early days of What Sound, believing they were a band who could go far and describing the album as “a beautifully architected album that shows the growing talents of a band who have really only just started and yet have already achieved so much”. It’s sad to see them go.

UPDATE: There is still one more chance to see Snakadaktal live, with the band playing a final farewell show at Northcote Social Club on March the 29th, with support from City Calm Down and Alan Palano. Tickets are on sale now and are likely going to sell out fast, so head over to www.northcotesocialclub.com and get in quick.
