To help celebrate peace in the lead up to the United Nations International Day of Peace, Melbourne’s own Hiatus Kaiyote and Oscar Key Sung are putting on a free concert at Federation Sqaure on Friday 19th September, beginning at 12 noon. There will also be information available about the Peace Education Program, an educational program hopngi to help people discover their own inner resource and the possibility of inner peace.

International Peace Day will be held on the 21st September with Melbourne Town Hall hosting the event with guest speaker and international Ambassador for Peace, Prem Rawat, starting at 6pm. There’s also the Red Hot Peace Gig at The Toff in Town which boasts a great lineup featuring The Kin, former Black Sorrow member Joe Creighton, Kutcha Edwards, musical director Lindsay Field, Nat Bartsch, Ross Hannaford, drummer Geoff Bridgford and songstress Kim O’Leary.

Of the event musical director Lindsay Field said, “I’m so proud to work with these artists, many of whom I have long term personal connections with – including The Kin, who are like Godsons to me! This will be a great show with performers from all musical genres and age groups coming togther to play this special gig and do our bit to share the message of peace.”
