Please introduce yourself
I’m Blair, drummer for Melbourne psych- garage- pop- rock 4 piece The Baudelaires.

What can you share about the new album to be launched this week?
Musk Hill is our debut full length after releasing the Be a Baudelaire! EP in 2014. It was recorded over a few days on a property down on the Mornington Peninsula, mixed by our man Grischa Zahren and mastered by the one and only Mikey Young. It is available from our Bandcamp in the form of download, CD and/ or fresh black wax. We will be celebrating the arrival of the vinyl copies this Friday, 17th of February at everyone’s favourite Old Bar in Fitzroy with Sunbeam Sound Machine, Jade Imagine and Mental Tremors.

How is the tour going? What has been the highlight so far?
We did a quick east coast run of shows in November before we all disappeared for a month. Hit Canberra for the first time which was great and Frankie’s Pizza in Sydney is a constant hightlight on our tours. Always look forward to sharing the Old Bar stage with our mates too. In other tour related news, we will soon be announcing all the dates for our first European tour, kicking off in May. We have 20 gigs in 5 countries over 4 weeks we’d like to let you all know about soon..

What is the most recent album you have bought and why?
Dungen- ‘Allas Sak’. Saw them play when they were in the country a couple of months ago and was widely agreed to be gig of the year by myself and others, including other Baudelaire members. This album is just so classy.

The zombie apocalypse is starting. Where will you be hiding out and what weapon will you keep close at hand?
We will actually be joining legendary 60s British band The Zombies during the apocalypse at Get Mad Festival, Madrid on the tour mentioned above. Us Baudelaires will be hiding at the front of the stage with a few Estrella tins close at hand.

The Baudelaires launch their album Musk Hill on Friday 17th Feb at Old Bar. Watch the video for latest single Dweller below.
